Our forefathers were well versed in the theory of the elements. The material world was believed to have been created from a blend of elements that though opposed to each other could paradoxically be combined in harmony: earth, air, fire and water. What, from today's scientific point of view, can only be seen as a mythical understanding of the world, was in fact more than just an attempt at explaining the act of creation. Because the truth - albeit figuratively - is confirmed on a daily basis in our manufacturing plants.

Using fire, we heat up the earth, dissolving its minerals into a fluid mass.We then use water and air to help shape and cool the material, finally creating a finished form, which gives no clues as to its original elements. Glass is an incredible natural product. Irrespective of how artistic or cool it may appear, the act of its creation lies with the four elements of myth.
